Fee Information

Most patients have little to no out-of-pocket costs for TMS treatment.

TMS is delivered as a course of outpatient treatment sessions. To get started, you’ll have an initial assessment with our psychiatrist. During your course, you’ll also have regular review appointments to support safe prescribing, monitoring and progress and adjust the plan if needed.

Initial Assessment

Your first appointment is a private consultation with our psychiatrist. If you have a valid referral, a Medicare rebate is available. During this appointment, our psychiatrist will determine whether TMS is a suitable treatment option for you.

An out-of-pocket fee applies to this initial 60-minute assessment. For most patients who meet Medicare criteria this is the only out-of-pocket cost, with the remainder of the TMS course (including TMS sessions and TMS review appointments) typically bulk billed.

If TMS is not an appropriate treatment for you, and you do not have a regular psychiatrist, our team can help guide you towards alternative treatment options.

Funding Streams

Medicare (most common pathway)

If you meet the Medicare criteria for TMS:

  • TMS mapping session is bulk billed
  • TMS treatment sessions are bulk billed
  • Psychiatrist reviews related to your TMS course are bulk billed.

In practical terms – Once you’ve completed your initial 60 minute assessment (fee applies), there are no out-of-pocket costs for your TMS treatment course if you meet Medicare criteria.

Private Funding

TMS can be accessed through private funding. Psychiatrist appointments are still bulk billed. We’ll confirm fees and expected cost with you prior to commencing treatment.

Work Cover

TMS may be approved for patients under workers’ compensation schemes. Our team is happy to assist with reports and communication with your insurer.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

Patients with a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold or White Card may be eligible to access TMS at no additional cost.

DVA has recently streamlined access. From 1 January 2026, prior approval is generally not required for DVA-funded TMS mapping and treatment when eligibility criteria are met. We’ll confirm your eligibility at your assessment and complete any documentation if needed.
